INFERNO... O_o

It has been SO hot here lately.  WE are lucky to have a little box cooler in our apartment, but it's still been like 85 degrees at 10:00 p.m.  which is just insanity.  These past two weeks were the weeks that Taggart and I were moving into our new apartment (more on that later).  But just imagine moving in this heat!  It's gross.  Take a look at the temperatures for Denver over the past 2 weeks, and you will cringe:
The high temps and dry climate have resulted in basically the entire state being on fire.  There are huge out of control fires all over the state, and it was reported that almost half of the nation's fire fighting resources are being sent to CO to try to get them under control.  The Waldo Canyon fire is in Colorado Springs, right near Garden of the Gods!  You can tell by the map that Denver is pretty much surrounded by fires on all sides.
This leaves me to say, where is some of THIS right now?
(these were taken earlier this spring)

Surprise!

Well, we haven't posted in FOREVER, because we are just the worst.  But so much has happened this year, and so since it's summer, we thought we'd get back on track (hopefully) with updating the goings on of our life.  Starting with the news of an addition to our family!... in the form of a cat haha.  We rescued May from the Dumb Friends League in February, and she has been quite hilarious and delightful ever since.  She's about 2 years old now, has gained 2 lbs. since we got her, has a crooked tail, and is pretty much the most dog-like cat in the world.  She and Taggart participate in what he has coined 'cat opera', in which he meows in song, and she meows back.  It's pretty funny, because she will carry on a whole conversation with you if you get her going.  Here are some other things she likes to do:
Since she is a lazy cat, she enjoys naps of the sleeping variety.

She loves watching TV - it is hilarious.  She especially loves Phineas & Ferb and will put her paws up on the entertainment center to watch it.  She also tries to catch the Wii remote pointer.  She also loves the cabinets in our new place, and if I leave one open, she will be in it.  Once I closed the cabinet with her inside and ten couldn't find her for like 20 min.  She was in there just hanging out and waiting for me to let her out.
May has decided that plastic bags are really fun (Scary, I know!), and crawls in them on a regular basis.  This morning she also was using this step stool as a tunnel.  Her butt was sticking out on the other side :D
The kitchen is full of incredibly interesting places to explore.
May-nerd says hi.
